Okay so now that the whole world has had a chance to see LOST, here are my thoughts.

1. Some people are saying they thought this episode was boring. I do not agree. I thought Juliet’s episode, with her totally snorefest “affair” with Goodwyn, was way more boring. I’m sorry, a bottle of wine on the beach does not a sizzlin’ love affair make.

2. “Ji Yeon,” while not the most action packed episode, gave us a lot in 1 hour. Think about it:

  • We get back to some of the original core characters that we have spent all too little time with this season.
  • We got a break from the Locke/Ben staring contest and the Kate/Jack/Sawyer/Juliet Love Rhombus.
  • We got resolution on the affair and we know that Jin knows for sure the baby is his.
  • We know Sun gets off the island, and we know she does it soon, because the effects of the Island on her pregnancy are going to start ramping up in the next few weeks.
  • We meet the kinda studly but kinda sinister Captain.
  • We hear Ben Linus and Charles Widmore in the same sentence.
  • We see freighter folk jumping off the ship and remainders of their brains splattered across the wall.
  • We see MICHAEL again. (I know we all saw it coming, but they still rocked the reveal).
  • And, we know that Jin does not get off the island. This may mean he dies, but he may just sacrifice himself to stay in exchange for Sun and their baby getting to go home, where she will survive. That’s what I’m going with, because it’s just too damn sad to think he’s dead.

Also, I thought the way the writers weaved the flash-forward and flash-back together was flashtasterastic.

Just my two Dharma cents.

With the knowledge that Apple won’t be seeing tonight’s stellar episode for another hour, I’ll keep this brief and vague. I can’t stop thinking about it. The writers are holding no punches. Bottom line: this season rocks the casbah.
