Heart Cape Cod!

Here at heartshapedrocks, we are obsessed with Orla Kiely. This hot brit designer created an amazing collection of laminate zip wallets and purses about 4 years ago. Since then, her skillz and ADORE designs have exploded, to our total glee and delight!

We are fanatical about her Big Zip Wallets. We all have one, and we continue to gift them to our fave friends now. Rowen, Coco, Grier and I have been known to all whip these out post-wine drenched dinner, and are then bestowed with compliments by the waitstaff.

Besides their obvious insane level of aesthetic adorableness, these wallets are super functional. The laminate makes them almost impossible to get dirty, and they are wide enough to fit a passport and the freakish money they have in weird foreign places, like Canada.

Next to the wallets, our fave item is the Holdall. This is virtually the perfect bag. It is ideal for work, as it comfortably fits our Macbooks, chargers, matching Orla wallets and all the random Laura Mercier makeup items that litter the bottoms of our bags. It has amazing interior pockets in different sizes for keys, cell, iPod and random necessities like bobby pins and Tootsie pops.

It’s laminated exterior is awesome when it rains, and also makes it the perfect carry-on. You can cram this thing full of US Weeklys and still have room for all your travel necessities.

We love love love love love this bag. Please buy it.

Orla Kiely has an amazing collection of clothing as well! (check out her sweet Wellies at Weekend, site below.)

Hello HeartReaders! Well today is a special day, I am heading for a week back to the Right Coast, very excited!

First a note on last night’s LOST. Ah-Mazing. Just knock your socks off good. Also another tear-jerker, as I feel like more and more of them are these days. Man I love this show. As I have told my cousin, I am hoping that at the end of the series the Producers sell a book of like every single freaking detail of this show. I would literally pay like hundreds of dollars for this book. I have hooked many people on this show, I feel like a drug pusher. My greatest conversion is actually none other than Shiloh, who we have been telling for 3 years to jump on the bandwagon and she has fiercely refused until a few weeks ago. Now I receive ichats such as “Ethan is scary” and “just tell me, does kate ever get with jack or sawyer?” I love this! However, I don’t want to spoil too much of the awesomeness for her–so, JUST KEEP WATCHING!

Tonight AppleHubs and I are heading back to CT. He will be giving a seminar at UConn on Tuesday and I will be working remotely next week along with seeing the fam and friends. I am especially looking forward to seeing my buddy in NYC, who is one of our best readers! (Shout Out!) Plans include mimosa-driven shopping, buying college-inspired clothing, and celebrating buddy’s birthday on Monday! Happy Birthday!

At the end of the week, I plan on heading to the Cape, the Happiest Place on earth. Where else is it acceptable to sit in front of a fire and read after binging on fried scallops? Well, there are probably others, but none better that I know of! While there, I plan on hitting some of my favorite Orleans stops:

Weekend: www.capeweekend.com
Land Ho: http://www.land-ho.com/orleans/home.html
Mahoney’s
Main Street Books
Fancy’s! Now ambiguous Village Market

All of this travelling presents WestCoastApple’s biggest challenge: Packing. The question always is there, should I pack ahead of time to save myself the yucky agony of wondering to put in the bag, or leave until the last minute so the torture is crammed into a stressful 2 hour period where AppleHubs is wondering what he got into? This time I opted for a hybrid. All week I have been dropping some essentials into my beat-up Eagle Creek so I feel like, oh this is so easy, see I’m packing? Then tonight at 7PM I will realize I have nothing actually wearable in the suitcase and then create a full on avalanche in this small unsuspecting piece of luggage. I usually end up bringing every new thing I have with a supply of North Face and Jcrew sweaters (please reference Shiloh’s “How we got this way” post, Boring Republic, and latest from stuffwhitepeoplelike). Then when I arrive on east coast I will wear like one thing all week and buy new things. This achieves nothing, but produces the added bonnus of having to cram MORE stuff into said bag on the way back.

I need a vacation. Yay!
